Neuroscientist studying stressed-out synapses! My dissertation focuses on the impact of adverse childhood experiences and poverty on the brain’s serotonergic system and how this may shape social behaviors. With nearly 10 years of education and training in biomedical research, I hope to leverage this expertise in a career in science policy and advocacy. I bring collaborative leadership and initiative to any position I hold, and I currently serve as the President of my PhD program’s student organization. In this position and others, I have demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusivity in STEM fields for women and underrepresented minorities, better compensation and treatment for graduate workers, and accessible mental health care.
