I am Sydney Lehmann, a senior studying journalism at Ohio University in the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism with a marketing minor and a social media certificate.At Ohio University, I am involved in PRSSA, a student organization that teaches public relations and communication skills, and Delta Zeta, one of the sororities at Ohio University, where I currently serve as internal social chair. Because of these organizations, I have learned more about communication, public relations, AP Style writing, time management and leadership. In 2023, I had a public relations internship with an advertising agency, HLK. During this internship, I worked closely with a team of interns to develop ad campaign pitches for two of their clients, The JRNY and Commerce Trust. With the help of the other interns, and my mentor, I advanced my collaboration, problem-solving, earned media and event-planning skills, which I will bring with me throughout my career. This summer, I had a marketing and public relations internship with Community Housing Network. Throughout this internship, I have written blog posts, managed social media content calendars, supported the coordination of volunteer activities, and assisted in planning a fundraising event. This experience enhanced my content creation, social media management, event planning, interpersonal skills and project management skills. As I approach graduation, I am excited to apply my skills in public relations and marketing to impactful projects, and I am actively seeking opportunities to start my career and join a dynamic team.
