Full-Time Parent
CurrentI was scheduled to come back from Maternity Leave and decided I wouldn't be returning. The decision to stay at home was not made flippantly as my husband and I thought long and hard about the decision. With lots of prayers, we ultimately decided this is what the Lord had planned for our family many months prior and we were going to be obedient and trust in His plan. When I take on a role, I want to make sure I can give 100% in that role. I loved my company, I loved the opportunities I was given at my company, and I especially loved the relationships made, but as my personal family grew I quickly realized the role I needed to focus on was at home. In the last few weeks of my pregnancy, I was going a million miles a minute and while I enjoyed the busyness I completely missed the last few moments of my pregnancy. My priorities were misaligned, so when my son was born everything sort of fell into place. Being on leave slowed me down and helped me understand where I needed to focus my attention.I know I left behind a good job, with a great team, and a supportive boss; but I’m confident in my decision to be with my son to help him learn and to watch him grow. Knowing my work ethic, I know I will be back in the workforce again with a renewed sense of balance, but until then I am thankful that the Lord has provided this opportunity for me and my family.
