Engineering Intern on the Operations Improvement Team- Designed and performed proof of concept experiments for downstream synthetic peptide purification with alternative solvent resistant membranes to investigate improvements to cycle time, yield, lifetime, and consumables cost- Investigated size-exclusion chromatography as an alternative method for downstream synthetic peptide purification to improve process economics- Operated high pressure and high flow rate filtration systems, used advanced chromatography systems (Cytiva Akta), and performed analytical tests for lab studies- Had the opportunity to tour and observe all stages of the drug manufacturing process
