In charge of the Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) measurements for the Length Department of the Federal Institute of Metrology METAS.Main tasks and involvements:- Participation to the "3D Nano" EMPIR Project : this project involves many European NMIs (National Metrology Institutes) and other Research centers and aims to provide 3D imaging services, with sub-nanometer precision and high speed measurement, by combining different measurements techniques (AFM, SEM, TEM, SAXS, ...)- Maintaining and upgrading metrological AFM system developed by METAS, involving among other things, hardware developments and repairs- Carrying out the calibration of nano-materials, such as nanoparticles height measurementsAlso participated to the H2020 Projects concerning CT-Scanner measurements :- 3D-Measurements of samples produced by additive micro-manufacturing- Characterization of their inner structure using 3D volume software (such as Volume Graphics)

3D-Bioprinting Of Biological Tissues
The purpose of this academical project is to develop an experimental method aiming the laser-assisted bioprinting of engineered biological tissues, as human skin. It involved the development of a specified manufacturing process using clean room equipment, and the usage of different imaging devices in optical microscopy (fluorescent, phase contrast, interferential, ...). This led to the application of a patent and the writing of a scientific paper.This project is made as an attribution of the "service civil" and on an independent basis, but with the help of a doctoral student of LAPD.
Numerical Simulation And Optimization Of Phononic Crystals
I first implementated a new method capable of computing mechanical modes (or phonons) of any periodical 2D phononic crystal (PnC), validated it using a different method and checked its convergence.Then, I used this method in order to design a new PnC structure: I proceeded to a slight tuning of different parameters of this structure in order to optimize certain properties, e.g. maximizing band gap size. Finally, this resulted to the finding of a promising structure exhibiting a large band gap and being quite easily manufacturable. This has some very interesting outcomes in optomechanical systems and can lead to some future works.This project has been supervised by Prof. Vincenzo Savona, director of LTPN.

I participated in the development of a new generation quantum cryptographic system, based on the implementation of a new protocol of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), by taking care of the calibration and the optimization of the whole system. My contribution implied both hardware and software developments, mixing physics, computer science and electronics. I was also involved in the delivery, installation and presentation of the product to the client.
