Sylvain Lepine has recently retired as an Advanced Care Paramedic Superintendent with extensive experience and management skills. He worked proudly for 37 years with Niagara EMS an organization that is patient focused and is considered an Industry Leader in innovation and technology. Sylvain is now focused on his new passion as a Professional Motor Coach Operator with Ayr Coach Lines. After almost 20 years in education Sylvain has retired from the Niagara College ACP Program. In 2013 Sylvain returned to his roots as a proud member of the Niagara Paramedic Association as a member of the Board of Directors. Sylvain served as past President of the Association and continues to provide exemplary leadership within both his professional and personal ventures. As a member of the Niagara Paramedic Association Sylvain was the key figure in the development of the Niagara Children’s Safety Village the first in Ontario to have a Paramedic Classroom. Sylvain was instrumental in the development of the Andrusiw-NPA Paramedic Scholarship Award, the only one of its kind in Ontario which is dedicated to the advancement and training of Paramedics and paramedic students every year. As a member of Niagara EMS Sylvain has enjoyed many achievements, in 2004 he received Paramedic of the Year the first recipient of this Award from the Region of Niagara and in 2006 received the Governor General of Canada Exemplary Service Award. In 2015 he was presented with his 30 year acknowledgement for Exemplary Service. Sylvain has also been instrumental in the advancement of technologies in the EMS environment; he has collaborated with information technology personnel to develop the Award Winning program, EMS Tools and continues to find new solutions utilizing various avenues of technology for the advancement of EMS in this new technological world.
