As one of the leading sites for sharing videos, Dailymotion attracts over 379 million unique monthly visitors and 3.1 billion videos views worldwide.My goal as Lead API Evangelist, Team Lead & Sr. Engineering Manager was to build the new Dailymotion API evangelization team from scratch to respond to the following missions:MANAGEMENT- Team recruitment, training, coaching & development of diverse profiles (engineering, communication & marketing, tech support agents)DEVELOPER RELATIONS / TECH SUPPORT- Lead transversal team effort coordination: API design, documentation, architecture, evolution, depreciation & lifecycle strategy workgroups- Driving awareness in the developer community (Open API)- Creation of a Premium Customer Success workflow (from onboarding to troubleshooting)- Rethink from scratch & ship the new Developer Portal Hub, which won the Best Overall Developer Portal Community Prize at the Dev Portal Awards in 2018- Lead GraphQL Schema Design (400+ GraphQL types) & API GuidelinesPRODUCT / MARKETING / COMMUNICATIONon:- Communication & marketing strategy, targeting premium partners through multiple communication channels (Developer Portal, Medium page, Social Networks, API Blog)- "APIs as products" & "API-first development" philosophy evangelization across the company- Community events hosting (Meetups, workshops, ...)ENGINEERING / TECH LEADERSHIP- Supervision of scaling & development of the Dailymotion API ecosystem (REST / GraphQL / Webhooks) (15B+ Monthly API calls, 180K Registered API keys)- Time, deliverables, dependencies, scoping, and resources definition, required for API development.- Dailymotion SDKs (Javascript, PHP, Swift, Python, Java, .NET + community-maintained), 3rd party integration tools (IFTTT).- API automation design (API documentation generation, support, changelog)- API performance & scalability monitoring (alerting, RUM, APM, On-call program)
