Followed ProLaunch stage gate process.– Created capital requests and effectively coordinated tools needed to ensure cash goals were met. – Served as team leader and presented projects in tollgate meetings with executives. – Directed project teams on wide range of projects to affect design of entire systems, optical, mechanical, thermal or electronic to meet established requirements.– Acted as liaison between various teams: mechanical design, optical, electrical, marketing, compliance, supply chain, quality and operations in order to launch defect free products.

– In charge of the Halo Track and Iris recessed project. Acted as Mechanical / Optical Engineer.– Responsible for generating millions of dollars in “cannibalization” savings on the Halo High Output 806 Fixture. It replaced the Stasis products at our key national account. See link below.– Designed, developed and launched Halo Stasis LED, first family of track fixtures launched at Cooper Lighting, that won various awards in 2010, such as “Best in Class” from Next Generation Luminaires, “The Hot 50 Products of 2010” from Green Builder, “Product of the Year” from EC&N. – Stasis LED and then Halo LED track heads designs were also used and implemented in multiple recessed combos from RSA (Cooper division). – Developed and implemented the Halo High Output 806 Track fixture in three months which was record time. It also increased the margin for National Accounts to levels never previously achieved at Cooper. – Halo track product increased brand equity by 40% in 2013.– Magnetic LED Undercabinet uses patented technology and won multiple awards including Lightfair, Platinum Adex and PIA. See link below.– Designed and developed the next generation of Halo LED High Output fixtures that secured a retrofit project that is worth $25M in 2013. Products also provided over $7M cost savings.

Hubbell Lighting supplies a comprehensive range of indoor and outdoor lighting products to industrial, commercial and institutional applications and is one of the largest manufacturers of residential lighting fixtures in North America.– Introduced LEDs and the SSL technology to Prescolite. Took initiative to build and show a sample that ended up becoming the first LED product. LED Cylinder is installed on the of the new Hubbell building, seen by thousands of people driving on interstate every day. See an image of the LD4 below.– Designed the first functional commercial LED downlight. The fixture won many awards and some of them are: “The Most Innovative Product” of the year 2006 from Interior Design magazine, “BOY” award, and the best TIAB in marketing. Selected for 2006 IES Progress report.– Managed multiple projects from initial idea stage to final product introduction. Finished projects on time within tight deadline restrictions. Responsible for entire product development process including ideation, concept design, design development, prototyping, and documentation.– Worked in partnership with Director of New Product Development and other teams, to pro-actively identify, develop and present new products for the Prescolite brand. Included drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. – Demonstrated ability to work from product / assembly goals and customer input, through prototyping and on to full production.

Philips Lighting is a global market leader with recognized expertise in the development, manufacturing, and application of innovative (LED) lighting solutions. Called TIR Systems at the time, this business is now part of Philips.– Managed design and development projects for specialty illuminating systems including K5600, HID6, and Dual Beam luminaires. – The K5600 luminaire was the first luminaire in the world to use an 800W lamp. It was in high demand in the movie industry and the project brought hundreds of thousands of dollars to the company.– The Dual Beam luminaire, used in tunnels, resulted in sales of approximately $3M.– Member of the Destiny ColorWash design team. This technology debuted on a 15-story building in Taipei to coincide with the Chinese new year. There are 625 luminaires on this building in a 15x15 grid with three luminaires per box. Pyng engineers life-saving trauma and resuscitation products for civilian and military medical and first responders. In 2017, Pyng merged with Teleflex, a leading global provider of medical technologies for critical care and surgery. – Member of core design team for the FAST-1TM Intraosseous Infusion System. The system is an alternative to standard IV infusion in emergencies and battlefield situations, delivering drugs into marrow of the sternum. This product earned a Gold Medical Design Excellence Award.– Managed the transition between design and manufacturing. Set up tests / procedures and performed R&D in the lab and Vancouver General Hospital morgue.– Collaborated with doctors to get their input in design for ergonomic use. Created and designed a sharp protection device with role of preventing medical personnel from getting hurt. Resulted in elimination of 5% injury reports.
