With over 20 years of experience in Pediatric and Neonatal Nursing, I am now in the process of furthering my education to grow in my professional career. I am currently enrolled in the RN to MSN program at Western Governor's University, while serving as the Interim NICU Manager at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. During this time, I have been participating in several activities that will help me to strengthen my professional presence, so that I can become a more authentic leader in my organization. I have learned to use introspection to increase not only my self-awareness, but my moral courage as well. I am an empathetic and encouraging leader who is not afraid to show transparency to my staff. They know that I am a trustworthy transformational leader who collaborates well with my team to create shared visions for our unit.
