After 30 years in the the vibrant energy of New York City, Sylvia Roldán Dohi is happily settled in sunny San Diego, CA. Her 27 years in the theater - including 10 years on Broadway - enable her to channel artistic energy, passion and creativity as she motivates a wide variety of corporate clients. She strives to help folks of all ages and stages improve valuable skills and thrive in their workplaces, guiding participants in-person and virtually, one-on-one or in groups of up to 600. In 2009, she was first recruited as a presentation skills coach and has worked for professional development companies on both US coasts. While supporting her husband in his miraculous recovery from a traumatic brain injury, Sylvia focused on the field of Positive Psychology - which is perfect for these challenging and uncertain times. She is Certified in Applied Positive Psychology Practice, has an additional Specialization created by the University of Pennsylvania, and belongs to the International Positive Psychology Assoc. Additionally, Sylvia is a certified Flourishing Skills Facilitator – the program used to help those in the armed services suffering from PTSD and other challenges – and has trained in Inspired Leadership (Specialization; Case Western), Positive Neuroplasticity (Rick Hanson), DE&I, from both Purdue University and from Human Rights Leader Loretta Ross (Smith College), and Self-Compassion (Kristin Neff). As an actor, Sylvia has toured the US, Europe and Asia in such shows as CATS, A CHORUS LINE and WEST SIDE STORY, culminating with a ten-year run on Broadway in the original production of MISS SAIGON. She has appeared with rock legends Alice Cooper and Clarence Clemons (of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band). The New York Newspaper EL DIARIO honored her as an Outstanding Woman of Hispanic Heritage, and the United Way selected her to represent their Asian-American campaign. She has narrated several audiobooks, including the SAMANTHA MOON: VAMPIRE FOR HIRE series by J.R. Rain, and AURORA IN FOUR VOICES by Catherine Asaro.And in her spare time, she can be seen rollerblading on Mission Beach!Sylvia passionately believes that positive energy, communication and creativity make our work and our lives better, and that we can always enjoy learning and growing.
