As the Laboratory Manager, I reported to the Laboratory Supervising Engineer, and was responsible for managing all laboratory activities to ensure the lab adhered to the Quality Control protocol. I trained, coordinated and supervised the laboratory technicians, reviewed and reported test results to clients. As well as I maintained the laboratory certifications from the various regulatory agencies (Ministry of Transportation, Ontario (MTO), Canadian Standard Association (CSA) and Canadian Council of Independent Laboratory (CCIL)). One of my key responsibilities that I really enjoyed and excelled at was communicating and collaborating with clients for further information or clarification to avoid work stoppages and aiding in optimizing work scheduling.Some of my accomplishments in the role included: * I successfully managed all aspects, from the request for quotation to invoicing, of the MTO Northeastern Area Testing Agreement Contract valued at $2.1 million, and consistently met contract deliverables. * I oversaw schedules and prioritized laboratory testing to meet tight turnaround times. * Simplifying training, I administered and implemented worksheets with procedures to ensure accurate testing was followed with minimum errors at all times. * I consistently collected, reviewed and provided results to clients in accordance to the City of Greater Sudbury (COGS), MTO and Ontario Provincial Specification Standards (OPSS).
