I synthesized (2S)-2-[2-(1H-indole-3-carbonyl) hydrazinyl]-2-phenylacetamide, a potential novel indole-based KRAS inhibitor for cancer therapeutic applications. I characterized the molecule using FIT-IR, GC-MS, LC-MS, and NMR; designed the synthesis route with ChemDraw. I optimized antimicrobial peptide C18 via forward and reverse sequencing and found therapeutic candidates to treat S. aureus and E. coli infections via RCM methods. I employed peptide synthesizer, lyophilizer, and Biotage Microwave for synthesis; purified using HPLC and Biotage Isolera; characterized with MALDI-TOF/MS, HPLC, and NMR. I also conducted a structure-activity relationship study of shortened analogues of protein peripherin 2 (PRPH2): synthesized truncated, reversed, and forward peptide sequences of parent protein to find a shorter drug lead for visual transduction. I utilized peptide synthesizer and lyophilizer for synthesis, with purification via HPLC and Biotage Isolera; characterized with MALDI-TOF/TOF MS and HPLC.

Fully responsible for instruction of 24 students. Ensured safety through proper handling of chemicals. Developed and graded exams, graded lab reports, and held one-on-one meetings for additional guidance.

I utilized computer modeling skills to theoretically evaluate the relative antioxidant activity of catechin, resveratrol, and ascorbic acid in various mediums: gaseous, benzene solvent, and aqueous media using Gaussian 09. I also served as a teaching assistant for various general chemistry labs.

I tutored elementary and high school students in subjects such as Chemistry, Math, Reading, and Writing.
