About Syrus Mesdaghi

Co-founder and CEO of Prominent Edge, Syrus Mesdaghi has scaled a successful career highly concentrated in technical leadership roles since 1999. He was on the faculty of the Full Sail Game Design & Development program where he taught Artificial Intelligence and contributed to other courses while being heavily involved in numerous Gaming, Simulation, and Virtual Reality projects. He also authored multiple books and presented prototypes at conferences such as SIGGRAPH, JavaOne, and Game Developers Conference. Later on, Syrus took on the Principal Engineer role at a visual simulation company where his leadership and technical roles led to the successful launch of a real-time squad-based tactical decision making product used to train civilian and military forces of multiple nations. He then focused on Geospatial and scalable web-based and mobile solutions. He was part of the team responsible for the transition of the advanced terrain reasoning analysis capabilities from research to production-level capabilities for the Commercial Joint Mapping Toolkit (CJMTK). He was also a key personnel and Technical Lead on the Army Geospatial Center's ROGUE/GeoSHAPE project from the proposal through execution and maintenance phases. He has served on the United Nation’s Open Geospatial and Software Engineering / Game Design & Development degree programs technical advisory boards, and steering committees for Artificial Intelligence standards. In 2014, Syrus leveraged his many years of leadership and technical expertise and co-founded Prominent Edge, establishing the organization as an industry leader in web, mobile, and geospatial solutions.
