In this position I monitor the of several federal funded projects as to ensure that the projects are progressing on schedule, spending funds appropriately and are delivering acceptable products. To do so I monitor the scope, spending, and schedule of my projects and address any issue that I see. Furthermore, I stay informed on the technology being implemented to increase my understanding of the projects. In addition I participate in meetings with stakeholders when necessary.

In this position, I was tasked with creating and evaluating two separate prototypes of the Morphing-Wing MAV(Micro Air Vehicle). The vehicle was intended to be capable of horizontal flight and vertical fight through the use of wings that would adjust their orientation to allow the vehicle to spin and generate lift. The position required independent research to find concepts to aid in the vehicle's performance. I also used AutoDesk Inventor extensively to design the structural components of the first prototype as well as redesign the entire vehicle for the second prototype. In order to evaluate the vehicle, I used the material present in the lab and my own designs to create cost effective apparatuses to measure the vehicle's lift, RPM and its power draw. The last major aspect was to present my findings to fellow researchers and the laboratory's director.

I was assigned to the Portfolio Management & Technology Development Office of NextGen. While there I analyzed portfolios related to the creation and implementation of the FAA's NextGen system. Specifically, I was assigned to find relationships between the systems found within the Performance-based Navigation (PBN) and Time-Based Flow Management (TBFM) portfolios. I accomplished this by dissected the documentation provided to me and researching concepts associated with the portfolios. During this process, I found that several systems within both portfolios were directly dependent on each other. In addition, I found that some systems would benefit from the techniques and technologies used by other systems. After my analysis, I created a set of recommendations to take advantage of the relationships and to mitigate any risk associated with the dependencies. I then consolidated the connections and recommendations and presented to them to the office director and the office managers.
