I believe in transformative learning experiences. My motto is, “Life never stops teaching.” With 20+ years of experience in the education field, I’ve seen the power of lifelong learning for students of all ages and backgrounds. As a proud first-generation college graduate, I’ve experienced this first-hand and recognize the need for creating opportunities outside traditional systems and institutions.My passion is in fostering diverse, equitable, inclusive cultures of lifelong learning and belonging by supporting self expression, promoting empowerment, and expanding access to opportunities for marginalized communities. My work ethic reflects these values, focusing on creativity, quality experiences, cultural relevance, empowering process improvements, and innovative communications. I dive into research and emerge with measured, thoughtful, actionable results. The most essential characteristic as an educator is willingness to learn and unlearn. My doctoral research focuses on LGBTQ+-inclusive curriculum. In my current roles, I help non-traditional students create meaningful bridges between their life experiences and higher education pursuits. I also support positive development outcomes for LGBTQ+ youths.
