Responsible for maintaining, supporting, updating, and ensuring security for the internet application. Firewalls for this layout were Linux based firewalls which I setup and maintained. The application ran using JBOSS, Apache, tomcat, sgcs, and PostgresQL for the database back end. I maintained firewall rules and installed ssl certificates for sites used by this application. Network Engineer
-TeamVest changed names to AdviceFrameworks-Primarily for cost savings reasons the entire infrastructure was migrated from windows to linux, I was the sole contact for infrastructure and these migrations were done by myself with some input from developers. The users used thin clients to attach to a server that provided them linux on the desktop. MS Exchange was moved over to qmail, the firewall was moved from CheckPoint to Iptables, backups were moved from ArcServe to using rsync, and pvcs was moved to CVS for code versions. Also, all internet applications were moved over to using Apache, Tomcat, and JBOSS. Certificates were moved from windows to Linux for Internet sites requiring SSL. DNS was configured on two servers that were setup in a cluster. I used heartbeat for setting up the linux clusters at this time, I also had experience using a product named LifeKeeper for Linux that used ha as the underlying product for cluster support on Linux.-I moved our office back to our original location. This consisted of building out all the cubicles and cabling the office and server room. It also included getting all the phone system cabling in place and working with an outsourced company to come in and setup a phone system once I had all wiring completed and everything was in place for us to successfully move over the company in one weekend.-I also supported users and internal servers used for file sharing, printing, etc at this time. All these services were moved to Linux servers and were maintained by myself. This involved some training for the employees as they were new to Linux on the desktop but I worked hard to try and make it so they noticed as little differences as possible so that they could continue to not have their workday impacted due to infrastructure changes.-Supported and setup the cisco routers in place.-Sole contact for after hours support and monitoring of the systems.
