Compensation Advisor
Current• Develops financial models that forecast the cost of compensation plans over time, ensuring that the district can sustain the plan without external funding.• Provides expertise and practical guidance on all compensation related topics to aid managers and other Human Resources staff resolve moderately complex issues.• Functions as an internal compensation consultant to define issues, identify options and implement creative and equitable solutions to address customer concerns and/or issues.• Provides guidance to management on such compensation topics as internal employee equity, reclassifications, salary adjustments, career pathways, etc.• Advises Talent Management on such compensation related issues as new hire analysis, salary offers and/or promotions.• Serves as a resource to management on compensation issues, trends, and/or best practices; performs analysis and recommends changes and/or improvements.• Administers the job evaluation and pay programs.• Performs job analyses and documents job content to assist managers with the conceptualization and development of job descriptions.• Prepares, revises and edits job descriptions for content, format and consistency.• Assists in the administration of specialized pay plans, cost of living increases or union pay plans.• Utilizes available market data and/or internal job comparisons to assign salary grades to jobs.• Reviews internal job-worth hierarchy of positions to ensure equitable and appropriate salary grade relationships across the district.• Evaluates and determines the exemption status of individual jobs for compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
