I have learned a lot in my year with customer service, I have leaned that people aren't necessarily mad at you but are mad in general and don't have anyone to take it out on and if you get upset with them the problem just progresses. I have loved handling money and being face to face with people because I am a people person and making people happy is what I like to do. I had always wanted to work in a bank when I was younger but never thought I would have the opportunity to since I dropped out of high school and become a teen mom. I wanted so much more out of life and for my children, I wanted them to see that I didn't just give up. I went for my GED and achieved it. When we moved to Alaska and I decided to put my GED to work since both my children were in school full time and I didn't have to work just to pay for child care. I was with Alaska USA Federal Credit Union for 3 months before I was putting loan applications into the lending software they used called Appro, it took me no time after that to start closing on the loans I was putting the applications in for. I was with Alaska USA for 16 months before I was promoted to a supervisory position called a Senior Financial Services Representative which I held for the remainder of my employment with them.
