My name is Tabitha Palmer and I am the founder/ owner of Minimal Optimist (MO for short). I am a boy mom, wife, nature lover, and optimist at heart. I love playing outdoors, riding bikes with my family, and drinking wine with friends.I started Minimal Optimist because I was looking for a way to purchase products for our home that are better for us and for the planet. What I found was that there was nowhere local specializing in sustainable goods. I was having to order everything online and then taking the risk of something not working out. So I started MO to provide a solution for our local community and offer sustainable goods and unique gifts all in one place. Minimal Optimist specializes in sustainable, eco-friendly, and nature-inspired goods and unique gifts. Our mission is to inspire confidence in a better future for you and for our planet. Specifically, we love incorporating brands that are certified Benefit Corporations (B Corps). Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balances purpose and profit. Some B Corps we are proud to carry are Rumpl blankets, Stasher Bags, ChicoBag, and Bee's Wraps. Alongside carrying many B Corp brands, we also carry many smaller brands that are sustainably made in the US, are fair trade, or are locally made right here in Knoxville. Small changes in our daily lives can have big impacts and we love celebrating that progress! Our motto is always progress over perfection.
