I have 25 years of experience in the transportation industry. Currently, I work as a dispatch manager for Buchanan Hauling & Rigging and have held this position for the past 11 years, 9 of the most recent being remote. Some of my responsibilities include:*dispatching flatbed, step deck, conestoga drivers*providing rates to customers for services, asking customers for detention and or layovers when needed*accepting and declining loads from customers*finding backhauls for drivers to get back on different sites our company had access to*business meetings for professional development*an important part of my job includes customer service and quickly resolving any issues that may have occurred 25 years ago, I started as a receptionist at Perkins Specialized Transportation. In the 10 years I worked for the company, I was promoted to the Customer Service Department, and then to Customer Service Manager, and eventually started as a flatbed dispatcher before the doors closed.I worked 4 years at Pace Air Freight in the sales department.Writing up contracts for customers, researching claims and sending out letters approving or denying, providing rates when they would call in on certain lanes, ordering our companies Christmas gifts for our customers and helping with the Crown system updates that could provide our company with more convivence and efficiency of information.
