Worked on software related to the health imaging domain under IBM’s Watson Health division.• Involved in design and implementation activities for back-end server components that power the Medical Imaging and Workflow Viewer application.• Designed and lead the implementation of a multi-threaded windows service that features high-availability, and coordinates with other windows and web services to schedule and initiate preprocessing actions for incoming medical imaging records.• Regularly participated in peer code reviews, developing unit and integration tests, and advising the QA team on test plans and environment setup requirements.

• Developed a host of internal tools (source code generators, chart parsers and processors) to automate routine programming related tasks. These tools introduced time savings of 30% or more, depending on the size of the target application.• Involved in the research and development of the next generation of embedded systems for the oil and construction industry.• Collaborated with the firmware engineer to plan an effective software partitioning scheme and developed a messaging protocol for inter-processor communication.• Conceptualized, prototyped, and presented a proposal for a streamlined user interface design for the upcoming line of embedded system products.• Responsible for implementing the software architecture and API for a highly optimized graphical widgeting framework that is intended to provide an HMI-based user interface for displaying sensor data and other relevant visualizations based on the real-time processor.• Wrote high level design documentation for the graphical widgeting framework outlining the general architecture, and an overview of the remote API calling mechanism.• Devised the rendering model and defined a “box model” that allows for convenient composition of widgets.• Developed and optimized rendering algorithms for graphical primitives, composite mask-based scanline generated graphical symbols and TrueType fonts.• Developed various software components for engineering support tools (bootloader client application, load sensor calibration tool, data log visualization and reporting tool, etc.)• Mentored junior colleagues in regards to applying sound software engineering principles to ensure robustness, maintainability, and reusability of software modules.
