I was born in a small town in Minas Gerais, right beside Bahia, but I didn't get to be there for too long. Right after my birth, my parents moved to Belo Horizonte, where I grew up until I was 6 years old. I've moved many other times after that and I actually like talking about how many times I've moved because it truly shows some of the abilities I've developed throughout life, such as adaptability, communication, persistence, empathy and many more. That also helped me becoming a great life changer, and that's a way my closest friends have described me as: a person that changes people's lives and environment for better. I guess this skill showed itself better when I chose my first career: being an English teacher. I took that path long ago, when I was 16 and had just gotten my proficiency certificate. It was a huge challenge for a 16-year-old black girl, but I'm so glad I took it, because being a teacher helped me exercising the skills I already had, but better yet made me develop professional skills to deal with the business world, such as organization, time management, dealing with stressful situations and deadlines, among others.When I was 19, I gave birth to my daughter and that was the biggest change I ever faced in my lifetime. She was born with several health issues and that also brought me new skills: how to face fear, how to control my feelings, how to cope with loss, but most important: she taught me that life and time is precious.At the age of 28, after taking some pieces of advice from a private student I had at the time, I decided to take another leap in my professional life and started investing in the IT area. My biggest step at the time was taking a 90-day course in Java development in Generation Brazil, an NGO that is focused in bringing minority groups to the IT world. While taking that course, I've decided that I wanted to move forward on the area and started Data Science in college. Currently I am still in college, and I also took the next step in my career as Junior Data Scientist at Brazil's stock market, B3, where besides all skills I've acquired until now, I am also learning how to develop dashboards, how to analyze data, how to automate processes, and much more.Summing up, I am a person who loves constant changing, improvements and I am always willing to learn and help! My biggest motivation is my daughter and during my free time I like hanging out with her, reading, watching movies and series and traveling. My daily motto is "the world is too small for me" and I like remembering that every single day.
