About Tal Mintz
Hello, my name is Tal Mintz and I currently serve as the Director of Admissions for Fusion Academy Westchester. I am a former educator, coach, and recruiter who has spent the past decade working inside and outside of the classroom with the aim of helping students become their own fiercest advocates by ensuring they have teachers who will go above and beyond for them. I graduated from Ithaca College with a B.A in Writing and Minors in Politics and Sports Studies. I moved to Memphis, TN to become an elementary school teacher as I felt being proximate to the issue of education inequity was one of the biggest ways I could create an impact in the lives of others. In Memphis, I was a Kindergarten, first, and second grade Play Teacher, using toys, games, and stations that were all rooted in STEM, Literacy, and Social Emotional Development. Additionally, I was a fifth grade Writing Teacher and the Assistant Rugby Coach at the neighboring high school. At Fusion Academy, I aim to support those around me, and help prospective students and families reach their full personal and academic goals. My favorite writer, Toni Morrison, once said, “When you get these jobs that you have been so brilliantly trained for, just remember that your real job is that if you are free, you need to free somebody else. If you have some power, then your job is to empower somebody else.” My passion lies in empowering our students and families, knowing that the most powerful lessons come from the communities we are aiming to support.
