This internship was an essential requirement of my MA. As a research intern at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF), I was associated primarily with assisting the Research Coordinators of the Center, observe the various board meetings, assist in organising and participating in conferences, seminars and workshops at the Center as well as assisting the Editor of the Center's Newsletter.At the same time, I was also observing the research team of an ongoing interdisciplinary research project headed by three members of faculties at Bielefeld University who are collaborating with a diverse group of external scholars and researchers on the research areas of globalisation and labor markets. The research group is formally titled as "In Search of the Global Labour Market: Actors, Structures and Policies". The involved myself in this research group as an observer in regular plenaries. An internship report was presented to the Faculty of Economics at Bielefeld University.

I worked with the NUCLEUS Project, which is part of a larger European Union research initiative dubbed as Horizon 2020. Bielefeld University is one of the three universities across Germany that works with partner institutes across Europe, China and South Africa to study and promote via policy framework building and networking the goal of responsible research and innovation. "Responsible" means research that is conducted in an interdisciplinary setting with the ambitious goal to bring diverse fields of science together in order to make science more interactive, dynamic and socially accessible. Furthermore, it is also meant to address the question of science and society working together and the challenges that such a model might have.My work as a research assistant was to bring the data together collected by interviewing leading scientific researcher and research associates across Europe and to analyse it.

This book was a collection of published articles by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto during his period at the University of California in Los Angeles in early 1950s through his mid-political leadership in Pakistan People’s Party. It includes some of his addresses to the United Nation’s General Assembly regarding various global and local socio-political issues in and round about the cold war period. My contributions were only limited to assisting in compiling, editing and proofreading the documents.
