MAJIQ Elixir is an ERP system for Pulp & Paper Industry, and being used by paper mills in North America and around the world. The application features a multi-threaded custom framework, remote data synchronization, custom ORM implementation, extensive support for Unit testing, and a great overall architecture, originally converted from legacy code on IBM's mainframe systems.MAJIQ uses Agile approach and releases a new version of the application every month, while priorities and tasks are planned ahead of the next release. My team (at Contour, Karachi) works on adding features, fixing bugs, improving design, and optimize performance. We have worked on adding or rewriting some Elixir modules, and new screens are designed using either MVVM or MVP patterns. Elixir is a has a diverse set of interfaces including WinForms, XAML Forms, Mobile application, SOAP, REST, OData and OPC (Hardware interfaces associated with paper machines).All processes and source control at MAJIQ are based on Azure, which also includes Kanban board with layers of Epics, Features, User Stories and Bugs. CI/CD processes perform build validation, run thousands of unit tests, and deploy the release to target folders.

Worked on Project Mustang to adjust field lengths of entities for SAP Integration.Followed and contributed to MAJIQ coding standards and mentored junior team members accordingly.Performed code refactoring and cleanup for readability, performance and unit testing.Posted UI changes to Usability Board for feedback.Coordinated with QA team and helped in testing.

Contour Software is a back-office services provider for CSI (Constellation Software Inc.) listed in Toronto Stock Exchange. Contour recruits and facilitates almost all subsidiaries of CSI having offices in Karachi and Lahore. Most of the positions at Contour are related to Senior Software developers, Test Engineers, UAT Automation experts, Accountants, and User Experience designers etc.

I led a small team focused on integrating 360training's applications (LMS and storefront) with partner applications/systems. We enabled our partners, that included CareerBuilder to offer courses using 360training's content and vice versa.

I started my career as a Senior .NET developer working on a product, MCM (MyClassroomManager), designed to facilitate management of classroom based trainings. The application was developed using C# (ASP.NET) based on MVC design pattern. I was offered an opportunity to move to another team that worked on live applications (developed using ColdFusion) that included critical and challenging work. I accepted the role and was gradually given more responsibilities. I was involved in systems analysis and design, maintaining existing live applications, and also initiated some refactoring and optimization initiatives to address some paint points.

Worked with NYC based company, ESP (Enterprise Solutions Providers) on an ASP.NET (SaaS) web service to perform keyword searches on US courts cases and to provide details of cases as PDF reports generated using PDF4NET APIs. These services were developed in C# and used proprietary name search engine to also include similar names.The release process was based on Continuous Integration, which was not very popular in software companies at that time.
