With the pandemic, we had to find new ways to help businesses survive. Our Dine Out program was hugely popular, met with support from the community and success for our members. From setting out chairs to enforcing compliance with city ordinances, I had many opportunities to learn the ins and outs of events.

It's amazing how many people want to dance, we just had to teach them. It was a privilege to serve as founder and president of Loyola's first Swing Dancing Club. After going through the process of becoming a registered student organization, we held weekly meetings and annual events that gave people a way to get out of their dorms, get their heart rate up, meet new people, and learn a new skill. The results were incredible! I'm proud to say the club survived the pandemic and still exists several years later (and our inaugural board hasn't played a role since 2020, so I'm especially impressed with the passion our members had to keep it going). Many still do swing dancing in their spare time and have sort of evangelized dance, teaching anyone who is willing to try, and it's pretty great to see.

As Special Events Director, I led the brainstorming, planning, and execution of interesting and fun events on our college campus. From our Halloween Murder Mystery to Bob Ross Paint Night, a few of our first-time events are still around years later. I'm proud of our accomplishments as an organization, but it's nothing compared to the feeling of seeing people excited about a good event.
