I believe in: * Beautiful civic justice buildings that contribute positively to the environment; Welcoming buildings full of daylight and color that inspire change and uplift the human spirit. * Creating a restorative, rehabilitative, healing, and sustainable justice system that serves our communities, the environment, and most importantly the people within them. * Changing the public’s perception of justice facilities by implementing new operational concepts, alternatives to incarceration, and treatment solutions to address the core issues of mental health and chemical dependency. I do this by: * Listening carefully to client input and synthesizing this to direct the planning, programming, design, and construction of justice facilities that support the philosophical mission and operations unique to each project. * Seeking creative, cohesive solutions with facility owners and users that respond to operational goals and philosophies, embodying evidence-based and trauma-informed research and best practices for adult and juvenile secure housing facilities, courthouses, customs and border protection facilities, emergency operations centers, and forensic laboratories. * Experiencing encounters with people who give living proof that the time and effort we invest in creating a new justice system with these restorative, rehabilitative, healing, and sustainable environments serves humanity and offers the vision of hope to a positive future for generations to come.
