About Tamara Hurst
To begin, I am blessed to have received a Bachelor's of Science in Allied Health and a Bachelor's of the Art in Chemistry (biochemistry emphasis) within the 4.5 years I was at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. I am a very driven hard worker, and I love having a list to cross off tasks each day. I am passionate about science, chemistry, and always reading about new research (specifically medical). I have worked as a leader, within a team, and independently. As an allergy specialist, I built professional relationships with my patients and providers from Colorado to the lower Texas area. As a training specialist, I have met and helped many people. Whether is was a new provider looking to increase their revenue, a new technician ready to be trained in the field of allergy, or patients searching for long term relief of their symptoms, I have been so incredibly blessed to meet the people I have, and to have also learned from them new training techniques and valuable skills for the work force.

Allergy Training And Implementation Specialist
I am currently training technicians in proper allergy testing, patient care, clinic work, our company's paperwork, communicating with the chosen clinic's staff, and mixing immunotherapy medication. I am acutely involved with clinic and all staff (doctors, nurses, administrators etc..) to ensure their commitment and satisfaction with the allergy services for their patients provided by our company. I have traveled independently to many Texas cities and Colorado, but mostly I have worked in many areas of Oklahoma throughout the state. I converse with the doctor and staff on what my company could do to assure them the best services we can offer, as well as gaining feedback for how well the services are increasing their revenue. All clinics are different; this job demands an open mind, the ability to be versatile to any changes that may ensure the betterment of the service for the clinic. It requires the need to be communicative with all types of people, including physicians, as the services are relied upon the clinic's ability to provide patient flow.
Allergy Specialist
I passed and was a certified as an Allergy Specialist on July 14th, 2013 by the University of the Incarnate in San Antonio, Texas. I tested patients for all environmental allergies and mixed their immunotherapy medications. I managed my clinic well enough to travel to different clinics throughout the state of Oklahoma and bordering states, working both independently and as a team. I was(and am still, of course) very compassionate and only display the utmost aseptic techniques when dealing without provider's patients. United is known for their very strict guidelines, all of which I followed exceptionally well. United is also known for their constant changes, technology and clinic oriented, all of which I was was able to adjust to within an appropriate amount of time. Although I have learned much from being a foreign exchange student, this job prepared me for the amount of change the health care industry is always seeing, and I was and still am striving to learn new things everyday.
Certified Nursing Assistant
I worked in a 100+ plus bed facility and assisted the residents with daily needs such as eating, ambulation, daily decisions, and hygiene. I was properly trained to work all hours, but my favorite was the night shift, and within the Alzheimer's unit. I learned the ability to react quickly to any emergency situation, and in time was able to assess the patient with taking vitals until the nurse arrived.I learned a great deal about diseases of all aspects, and my colleagues knew I was a hard worker and would make sure to get any amount of work that needed done. A great majority of the time, we were left short-handed and needed to adjust accordingly and maintain a multitasking ability. With the work mindset this job helped me create, and the relationships I formed while under the nursing facility, I was always able to leave knowing I had accomplished my job 110%.
Teaching Assistant - Anatomy
I participated in assisting Dr Gonzalez during his first few semesters at my alma mater. I honestly loved this job the most, as I was able to see many different organs from many different species. I helped Dr Gonzalez tremendously by sitting in on the other anatomy teacher's cat dissection. Dr Gonzalez was widely known for his cadaver anatomy expertise, but hadn't spent much time with the feline anatomy. I was able to write up several dissection notes, and was even so blessed as to mandate a class by myself. It was terrifying and thrilling at the same time! I also graded practicals and tests for him whenever he needed.
Floor Clerk
Managed cash register and checked in OTC medication as well as pharmaceutical. Although I worked in the pharmacy only a few times to train hopefully to be a technician, I was able to gain moderate knowledge about certain pharmaceutical drugs and their generic forms.
