Setting:The OGH Institute is a secure residential youth care facility, under the legislation of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. Adolescents (12-18 y/o) are generally admitted with a custodial placement order provided by a (civil) juvenile judge. For most of them, child protection measures have been put into place, such as a family supervision order. As a specialized youth care provider, the OGH is considered a full service setting, integrating services such as care, treatment, education/practical training and leisure activities. Compulsory care is required when the adolescent tends to withdraw from services, putting themselves and/or others at considerable risk, or in circumstances the adolescent needs protection from threatening others. The OGH is part of the CONRISQ Group.(visit www.ogheldring.nl, in Dutch)Project:As the Dutch youth care system is experiencing a major transformation (since Jan.2015); the OGH Institute initiated its own transformation and innovation. As part of this, structured and standardized risk assessment is being introduced in the daily practice, leading to risk-informed treatment and supervision decisions. As project leader I am responsible for organizing and coordinating the risk assessment project including the implementation and follow-up of the START:AV within the institution.See www.start-av.nl (in Dutch) or startav@ogheldring.nl for more information.
