Criminal Justice Specialist (Crime Gun Forensic Technician)
CurrentPerform quality control, acquisition, site management, and data analysis. Responsible for entry of evidence. Summarize reports for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and National Integrated Ballistic Information Network. Process data entry in spreadsheets, charts, and reports. Completing analysis of crime gun intelligence for several different law enforcement agencies. Perform ammunition image and correlation reviews to determine possible leads using National Integrated Ballistic Information Network and Matchpoint equipment. Frequently identifies potential problems in attaining goals and recommends modification to strategic plans. Apply policies and procedures in searching, interpreting, selecting, or coding items to be entered from a variety of document sources. Conduct presentations and training to new employees.
