At the Civic Education Center (CEC), I work closely with the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, collaborating with school boards, administrators, principals, and teachers to ensure that civic education is effectively delivered to students in grades 8-12. A key part of my role involves developing board policies to support the State Seal of Civic Engagement, guiding the student application and review process, and advising staff on how to integrate civic engagement into their instruction. I also train educators, equipping them with the tools and strategies necessary to effectively deliver civic education in their classrooms.In addition to this, I have been instrumental in editing and developing the CEC’s Civic-Based Curriculum, workbook, and activity guide, which are used to guide students through a hands-on, project-based approach to civic learning. I work directly with partner agencies to create meaningful service-learning opportunities at school sites, allowing students to engage with their communities in real-world civic projects. Moreover, I dedicate significant time to building lasting relationships within the community, forging partnerships that bring valuable resources and skilled professionals to support the schools we serve. By collaborating with youth leaders, I help them develop civic engagement projects that inspire action and foster a sense of civic responsibility, ensuring that students can make a tangible impact on their communities.

We offer an array of marketing , development and community engagement strategies including database creation/management, membership and program development, grant writing, website design/management, social media content, and video production. We have been providing professional video results for real estate, adventure, events, weddings, and corporate videos and commercials. In addition we can provide you with photography, graphic design, website and social media design, and performance, and live event coverage. This career began at PBS Valley Public TV and since then (2001) have been supporting both Fresno and Tulare County. In 2021 we received the CMAC "Producer of the year"I have been producing videos for organizations since 1999. I started with CCC as an Educational Coordinator to teach new members about Conservation and ways they can be part of the solution to our environmental challenges. In addition to teaching, I provided individualized support for young adult Corps Members from diverse background to successfully transition to employment, training and/or education following their time at CCC; Interacted with 100-200 Corps Members to assess their educational interests and career-readiness in anticipation of transition from the CCC. Actively managed the development and implementation of personalized action plans for the transition to post-corps employment, education or training. Produced and posted a variety of videos, photos, graphics and illustrations to aid in educating the Corps Members on trainings, events, news and resources available to assist them in their transition. Took, selected, edited, labeled and cropped digital photographs and videos for online use and printed material. Created a web portal for Corps Members to access training modules, news and additional resource information. Developed and fostered partnerships, such as those with local government agencies, community-based organizations, education and training providers, local corps, organized labor, employers, sponsors, foundations, and other resources to support the Corps Pathways and other transition programs.

Learn healthy habits, self sufficiency, explore the outdoors, and give back. ​This website was a platform to learn, explore and be inspired to live naturally, healthy and improve your overall well-being. We worked to encourage, develop and support individuals within the Central Valley of California with interest in establishing a healthy, positive and sustainable way of living. We reached out to individuals, businesses, nonprofits, communities, government agencies, and foundations that share a commitment to changing our way of thinking about food, self sufficiency and carbon footprint, and enjoying the outdoors in an effort to partner and become a stronger force to make positive change.

Reviewed proposed construction plans and inspects buildings and construction projects for compliance with fire and life-safety codes and regulations. Coordinated with contractors, city planner, building inspectors, and city engineer to approve site, sprinkler, alarm and commercial cooking system plans. Approved hydro and air pressure testing, commercial hood testing, obstruction testing (5-years), fire alarm installations and testing, new fire pump testing, and the installations of hangers and braces.

In 2007, one of my previous students asked me to find a way to create a place were kids could go (no matter what background they had) to be safe and grow. For the next three years that became my focus. Starting with the Fresno County Boys & Girls club we opened a small club funded by the Fresno Housing Authority. However, this site soon became overloaded with boys and girls ages 8-18. With the help of my past employer we found the SH Cowell Foundation where they funded a second large youth center in the center of Sanger, CA. See the videos below (which I created) for examples of why this club was so important. During my employment, I oversaw club operations that include: supervise staff, mentored members, community outreach with local schools, government, media, businesses and families to promote club services and programs, grant writing and management, create and develop youth programs that fosters leadership, exploration, academic enrichment and service learning.

I managed a case load of over 120 students. Duties included assessment, instruction, mentoring and referral. Facilitate and instruct life skill classes and group processing. Facilitate, coordinate and led alternative adventure program and service learning projects such as the local youth council, animal shelter projects, after school program and various others.

I was responsible for initiating and providing consultation and support services to build the organizations membership and donor services; working in partnership with local organizations to build and grow the organizations capacity. Below is a video that I created to help with this endeavor.

I consulted 12 after school sites within Fresno County with primary concern for program development and implementation; staff development; and budget management. Provided technical assistance in programming and operations. Monitored after school attendance and other outcomes. Provided program resources.

I was responsible for pledge production, memberships correlated with pledge, and special events. I consistently exceeded budget goal as much as 24% and raising over $700,000 annually. Partnered with other organizations to develop a successful community outreach programs.
