While working at Boerne ISD, I have taught 7th-9th grade technology and mathematics classes, served as Campus Technology Coordinator, Technology Department Chair, and served on a variety of leadership committees. With 29 years in education I have had a front row seat watching classrooms go from having only one teacher computer workstation to the recently implemented BYOD initiative which could potentially give one to one computer access to an entire classroom. BMSN has often been selected to pilot technology programs and, as was recently reported to the school board, is at the forefront of implementing technology in our classrooms. This movement has also come with unique challenges as not all teachers are comfortable with embracing this new technology as part of their curriculum. I feel that my experience as both a mathematics teacher and CTC allows me to work closely with teachers and other professionals as well in finding ways that could help them move to technology rich learning environment.
