I started my career in the medical administrative field in 2012 after my divorce. I needed a career to support myself and children and started that journey at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health as a Patient Access Representative for Vascular Surgery.I was promoted to Patient Access Representative II shortly after and began learning the referral process.I moved on to the Women’s Health dept as a Referral Coordinator. Processing incoming and outgoing referrals and obtaining insurance verification. I took a position with Conifer to work in the billing field of Healthcare. started in a dept of revenue cycle reviewing accts for missing supplies and implants working with vendors. Promoted to the centralized editing team after a year and learned charge entry and reviewing different work ques and correcting charges and researching denials.
