About Tammy J. Thayer

I hold a Master’s Degree in Education and have 25 years of paid experience in public and private sectors. My most recent experience is in managing executive operations and projects for one of New York’s largest non-profit institutions serving individuals with chronic, complex conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorders. Prior to this role, I provided project management support at the system level of the largest comprehensive institution of higher education in the United States, leading to the successful implementation of state-wide initiatives and streamlined processes within operational departments of the University. I have provided coaching and technical assistance to communities across the state as a part of implementing a collective impact approach to improving educational outcomes for students; secured more than $38 million in competitive grant funding from Federal, State, and private sources; possess project development and coordination skills, including the design and implementation of work plans and budgets; have served as a classroom teacher in a high-needs rural community, and also as a community-based educator in urban, suburban, and rural parts of the state. I have proven leadership abilities, as well as excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, experience with event planning and facilitation, and marketing capabilities. In addition, I have office management experience, with proficiency in MS Office and other computer programs.
