About Tammy Anderson

People who know me know that I am by nature an organized person who enjoys the challenge of taking a project from start to finish. I love the challenge of seeing a need and devising a solution to meet that need. For example, when I saw many young people who lacked confidence and motivation to be more physically active, I launched and coordinated a Jump Rope program, the Jumpin’ Cats, for 3rd to 5th Grades that cultivated successful experiences for youth. These groups performed at halftime during high school basketball games. My love of training expanded when I was selected as a Technology Mentor to teach, train, and inform colleagues on Techie Tuesdays about new technology initiatives and products and lead Tech Week in summer for colleagues on technology.Technology continues to be key in our world and teaching summer sessions for teachers allowed me to use technology such as the Flipped Classroom using Camtasia Relay, SMART Recorder, and Screencast-o-matics to create videos used to instruct students.When I trained within the program as a Coaching for Leadership Coach, I explored and practiced essential coaching skills using knowledge of emotional intelligence, appreciative inquiry, building trust, and using open-ended questions.

Initially recruited to teach Fourth Grade in a K12 school by the administrator after demonstrating teaching skills used in summer school and substitute teaching assignments. ♦ Ignited student interest in science through coaching the class to design, write, and perform plays after unit completion. Sample projects were the owl unit, “What a Hoot!” and the plant unit, “Circle of Life” featuring music, artwork, and acting. The children performed for Kindergarten through Third Grade.♦ Initiated and launched original Christmas musicals performed by the Fourth Grade in collaboration with the First Grade class for an audience composed of elementary students and their families. Students auditioned and were awarded key roles each year. ♦ As In-service Committee member, researched and planned topics and speakers for upcoming In-Service days.
