Dr. Tamara Moores Todd is an Emergency Medicine physician and Interim Chief Health Informatics Officer for Digital Technology Services at Intermountain Health. She also is a leader in Digital Health, shaping digital strategy and technology road map of the consumer experience, with a particular focus on digital therapeutics.Dr. Moores Todd cares clinically for emergency medicine patients in multiple urban and community hospitals in the Salt Lake Valley, as well as works as a tele-emergency physician in Intermountain Health’s transfer center, facilitating tele-emergency medicine care across Intermountain’s telehealth catchment area.Her passions in clinical informatics are creating systems which sustain the heart of healthcare – the caregiver & patient experience. What could we do if we focused our “health” efforts on patient vitality, personal experience, and empowerment, rather than on breaking the patient journey into disparate disease elements to be managed by multiple different teams? Dr. Moores Todd leads a multi-disciplinary team of physicians, informaticists, analysts, managers, and directors to optimize the healthcare experience through the blending of technology and workflow, in order to create a better embodiment of health for her community.In previous medical director roles, she has been the ED physician lead for implementation of technical solutions to support deployment of workflows & care process models at a system level. She has been heavily involved in guiding development of clinical decision support, Care Pathways, multiplatform applications, optimization of workflow, and improvement of metrics with a specific focus on Stroke, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Pulmonary Embolism, Headache, and Sepsis.In addition, Dr. Moores Todd served as the Intermountain Informatics Physician System lead for COVID-19 testing during the pandemic. Her team created a novel, agile, transformative testing technical workflow which supported Intermountain Healthcare to provide more than 2 million COVID tests and more than 200,000 vaccinations across 60+ community locations.For clinical process improvement, Dr. Moores Todd also co-founded the Simulation Program for Utah Emergency Physicians (UEP), facilitating high-fidelity continuing education with a teams-based approach for Attending Physicians of UEP.Tamara grew up in the wild woods of California, where she learned salsa dancing and boriqua cooking from her mother, and road biking from her father. She enjoys poetry, ukulele, and spending time with her growing family.
