I am on a year long internship as part of my degree, as a Buying Assistant. The placement is divided into two 6 months placements, one with an own buy team, and one with a branded team, allowing me to gain experience in both fields.I currently manage a branded account at Asos, acting as the brand's first point of call for all buying queries. I am very lucky to work with a high performing brand with a constantly growing option count, with lots of opportunities to develop product, which is something I throughly enjoy. My experience on own buy has given me a deeper understanding of the development process, and an appreciation of the technical aspects of this, which I am able to apply to branded buying. I have been very lucky to experience the full experience and responsibilities of a BA whilst on my placement, and am excited to begin a career in this field upon my graduation. It is a brand I really have faith in and identify with and I throughly enjoy working for a brand with such strong values.

Throughout university, I have worked part time at Topshop, as I enjoy the fast pace of retail, as well as the opportunity to work closely with customers, testing my problem solving skills and exercising my passion for styling and fashion. During my time at Topshop, I have had a number of additional responsibilities outside of my job role in many different areas, such as identifying best and worst sellers, Visual Merchandising, processing deliveries and passouts and training new staff members.

Whilst at university, I also was employed part time as the Skinny-dip concession manager at Topshop Nottingham. I was solely responsible for the Skinny-dip stand, including its visual merchandising, stock control, and co-ordination between brand head office and Topshop in store. Responsibilities include : - Visual merchandising - both working from a plan sent from head office and using my own initiative - Stock takes and stock control - Handling deliveries and pass outs - Co-ordinating with inshore VMs to arrange stand placement and filtering of Skinny-dip accessories into store’s accessories department - Monitoring sales figures and reporting to head office on this weekly, reporting anything that may effect this and comparing with Topshop’s figures for the week
