- Providing basic care and cleaning enclosures of dogs, cats, and small animals throughout facility- Monitoring behavior and health of animals, and reporting abnormalities when necessary- Preparation and administration of oral, topical, and subcutaneous medications for animals on treatments- Following proper sanitation methods to limit transmission of disease between animals in the shelter- Adhering to strict cleaning guidelines for isolation wards such as ringworm, parvovirus, and panleukopenia- Transferring animals between different areas of the shelter when necessary- Using time management skills to clean a large volume of enclosures while maintaining quality of work- Communicating and coordinating with other employees to ensure that all isolation wards are cleaned before end of morning shift- Maintaining a positive attitude in difficult or stressful situations

- Performing full grooming service for 5-15 dogs per day- Maintaining high quality of work to ensure customer satisfaction- Providing sincere customer service- Monitoring for signs of illness or disease in clients, such as fleas, ticks, skin disease, ear infections, oral disease, and more, and reporting conditions to owners- Maintaining inventory for business, and placing supply orders when needed- Sanitizing equipment and work area to limit disease transmission- Cooperating as a team with other groomers to ensure timeliness of appointments- Maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful work environment- Designing and implementing new operating procedures for grooming, daycare, and bathing as needed
