Resource Coordinator/Case Manager
I manage a caseload of twenty-eight clients who are experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges, often with dual diagnosis. A priority when engaging with clients is to build and maintain rapport to improve outcomes. An accomplishment that stands out for me is getting charges dismissed for a client experiencing schizophrenia, by ensuring compliancy with the judge’s orders. The charges were for breaking and entering the home the family was evicted from during the middle of winter. Other accomplishments include connecting participants with mental health treatment, permanent and supportive housing, medical treatment, preventative care, and entitlements.
Volunteer
I engaged with the school community by chaperoning trips to museums, parks, and musicals; supporting school musical by assisting backstage (hair, makeup, and costumes); assisting in the classroom; and supporting administrative staff.
Treasurer
As a voting member of the home and school executive board, I was an advocate for families and students at Carver High School. As the treasurer, I managed all monies (cash, checks, electronic) collected and disbursed through our 501c3 nonprofit, prepared all financial documents (monthly reports, annual audit, annual budget), prepared and distributed tax donation letters to all donors, presented monthly reports to the EB and general membership, played an integral role in fundraising events and organizing events for students and their families (senior celebration, mindfulness workshops, school spirit sales, breakfast with the principal for parents, special membership meetings with school leaders), participated in updating the HSA's By-laws.
