About Tara Needham

I am a writer, editor, educator, and administrator with more than 25 years experience in cultural organizations and higher education, with particular expertise in the literary arts, public humanities, and program development and management. I have worked at or served as a consultant to regional arts council, independent literary publishers, national membership organizations, and academic institutes, including the Hannah Arendt Center for Humanities and Politics at Bard College and the New York State Writers Institute at the University at Albany. My career has been driven by a passion for increasing access to the arts and humanities, building capacity for small to mid-size non-profits, and forging meaningful and lasting connections between academia and the wider public. I have taught extensively at the college level in literature, writing, and cultural theory, from general education courses to upper level seminars.
