Chair four staff committees, and oversee the planning and work of five staff committees in order to increase employee involvement, engagement, and work life fit. Resource for other employees and managers regarding communications strategy, work-life, recognition, and health and wellness issues.

Produced records for the PsycINFO and PsycEXTRA databases by selecting documents, creating content representation, and indexing and classifying records from scholarly journals, books and other media. Performed quality control reviews and feedback of team members’ work, participated in team production planning, and trained new staff.Created and chaired PsycParty committee, which involved planning social events each month to promote social connectedness and camaraderie among staff. Chair of organization-wide StART (Staff Awards and Recognition Team) committee, which involved planning and implementing biannual Recognition Days, promoting APA values, and creating monthly e-newsletters to promote staff appreciation. Co-chaired the PsycINFO Academy Awards, a peer recognition program promoting a culture of recognition, connectivity, team inclusiveness, and high morale.Received the Stretch Armstrong Award in November 2007 for exhibiting APA’s core values of Flexibility and Resilience as voted on by my peers, and an APA Service All-Star Award in January 2008 for my efforts in creating a culture of recognition and social interaction at APA.

Volunteered intensely in a nondenominational outreach ministry with high school students. Planned and implemented weekly meetings consisting of skits, mixers, songs, talks, and one-on-one time. Modeled trust, respect and responsibility through daily contact work, while mentoring adolescents on issues involving mental health, stress, schoolwork, family, substance abuse, and relationships. Produced talks and lessons to share with high school students a few times per semester, as well as weekly small group lessons.
