GENERAL PURPOSE:Using knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), perform professional accounting work in financial analysis, reporting and reconciliations of the Department’s financial management systems. Manage payroll for the Department and provide oversight and direction to lower level administrative staff regarding timekeeping policies and procedures. Perform financial journal entry processing and periodic reporting. Develop and recommend policies, procedures and process improvements to ensure the accuracy, completeness and effectiveness of accounting and financial information.
