Coastal Conservation Group, LLC works with project managers, permitting agencies, sponsors, and governments to ensure that the requirements for environmental permitting and endangered species protection measures are met. The Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammal Protection Act afford protection for species through monitoring and research requirements. Our credentials and experience ensure that we meet the needs through thoughtful endangered species monitoring, conservation management, restoration plans, and effective permitting knowledge.

Responsible for managing, administering, and implementing a US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) and Incidental Take Permit (ITP) that covers 42 miles of coastline.• Liaison between Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) and other agencies.• Coordinate with several departments, divisions, agencies, outside contractors and volunteers to provide programs and activities to fulfill the HCP requirements. • Delegate tasks, supervise staff, and others involved in the operations associated with implementation of the HCP and ITP. • Develop public awareness materials and outreach programs through the distribution of thousands of post cards, brochures, stickers for coastal residents and resorts as well as create educational signage for public access points. • Review, approve, and provide technical assistance on special event applications. • Review and provide technical input into policy decisions related to protected species management to ensure consistency with the HCP and ITP.• Research and assist in grant writing for financial aid and support of HCP programs and policies resulting in $255,000 in additional funding.• Prepare annual data reports for submission to USFWS.• Coordinate and assist with marine wildlife rescues, migratory bird conservation implementation, and other related conservation activities. • Implement and coordinate volunteer program for over 300 participants. • Supervise the work of over 10 employees assuring compliance to job requirements.

As co-founder and President of Keepers Of The Coast, a non-profit located in NE Florida, I have had the pleasure of working with our community on a variety of projects. Our goal is to create stewards of our coastal environment through conservation initiatives like our annual sea turtle festival, beach and waterway cleanups,creating education material, and introducing children to the beach with special field trips.

Responsible for small and large scale municipal and private projects throughout the Lake Tahoe basin in a team oriented atmosphere. • Obtained permits for projects such as parking lots, public access, shore zone restoration, and residential subdivisions. • Prepared and managed documents, environmental and technical studies, including Initial Studies and Negative Declarations within the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). • Coordinated with the Lake Tahoe Basin permitting agencies: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, California Dept. of Fish and Game, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board, Placer County, California State Lands Commission, California Tahoe Conservancy and the U.S. Forest Service.

Performed data collection on project that studied effects of Off Highway Vehicles (OHVs) on the American Marten (Martes Americana) in the Lake Tahoe Basin, CA, using track plates, remotely-triggered cameras, snow tracking, and acoustic monitoring devices to determine Marten distribution in relation to OHV use (and in non-use wilderness areas). • Collaborated with Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute (HSWRI) scientists and bio-acousticians as the Redwood Science Laboratory bio-acoustic point person to maintain sound level meters and data collection. • Required extensive field days with a team or on solo mission in the backcountry that involved hiking over difficult terrain, driving 4x4 All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) in the summer and fall, skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling in the winter and spring.• Periodic requirement of overnight camping, including accessing a remote Sierra Club Hut that was utilized as base camp. • Trained and provided guidance for new staff in the use of bio-acoustic equipment.• Designated as team representative assigned the task of taking field-collected data to the Sea World facility in San Diego, CA, where data was reduced and quantified to produce study results.
