I am a graduate student at the University of Missouri, Columbia, in the School of Social Work. I am pursuing an MSW and a certificate in Gerontology. Along with co-hosting the podcast Navigating Adult Autism, which starts its second season on September 16th with guest Temple Grandin, I am also an International Exchange Coordinator (IEC) for Education First (EF). I find and place foreign exchange students in quality host families in Missouri. In my previous career as a Family Advocate, I assisted families in a school environment by supporting them in gaining life skills and employment and referring them to programs that help them achieve their goals. I worked with a fantastic team to better the lives of our school family. Although I am currently working with teens, my true passion is with the very old. I am very interested in dementia studies and how dementia affects the person and family.
