My name is Tara Welch, and I am deeply passionate about serving my community. I am proud to be actively involved in the nonprofit sector in the Great Lakes Bay Region.Currently, I hold the position of Chief Operating Officer at The ROCK Center for Youth Development and Discover You. At The ROCK, we are building hope and resilience in youth based on a foundation of acceptance, support, and respect. We do this through impactful programming across the State of Michigan and beyond. Our three pillar programs are out-of-school time, Discover You, and Peer to Peer.In addition to this role, I am honored to serve as the Lead Learning Facilitator for the Rotary District of 6310, where I work to equip upcoming presidents with the necessary skills to effectively lead their clubs.My board service in my community includes The Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, Bay Area Growth Alliance, Mid-Michigan American Fundraising Professionals, The Jefferson Project, and the Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy. I am passionate about all these organizations and the impact they make on the community. Through my board service, I have increased my skills in communication, community partnerships, fund development, and volunteer management.Continuing my dedication to personal and professional growth, I am currently pursuing further education to enhance my fundraising skills. My goal is to obtain my CFRE, allowing me to make an even greater impact in the nonprofit sector and beyond. My love of learning, being my top strength, motivates me to continue to grow and enhance my skills!
