Utilising a strong engineering foundation and an aptitude for business and strategy. Dr Tarek is now the managing director at Global Appraisal Tech (GAT), which is one of the top asset valuation firms in Egypt, leading teams in real estate, machinery and equipment valuation, project management and feasibility studies. Under Dr Tarek’s direction, GAT has appraised hundreds of projects. Some of which were development, commercial, residential, plant and equipment assets, as well as operating hotels, hospitals, factories, and more. Some of the top clients that Dr Tarek has directed include Orascom, TMG, Al-Futtaim, OUD, Rooya Group, DMG Mountain View, and more. Dr Tarek’s team has also worked on projects alongside top valuation and financial auditors including KPMG, Deloitte, PWC, E&Y and more.

A board member plays a crucial role in informing the overall strategy of RICS reporting into the Management Board which has delegated authority from the profession’s Governing Council to develop and oversee the performance of the global business plan. The Board Member contributes to the promotion of growth in market recognition of RICS standards, provide market insight and intelligence to inform overall strategy, enhance the recognition and profile of RICS throughout the region as well as promote local member engagement.

The panel comprises of a Chairperson, the RICS MENA Director (Executive) and up to six non-executives. Key responsibilities of the role: 1- Identify market trends and how these impact on the profession in the region.Recognise, influence and working collaboratively with the RICS MENA team to embed standards in the region.2- Develop and support national or other geographically based RICS groups; communicating RICS strategy and regional direction.3- Provide market insight to the Management Board.4- Encourage innovation and ideas and develop business plans for any investments, outside of the business plan, that would advance the regions strategy and financial affairs. Submit such plans to the Management Board for consideration.5- As a team, develop a rolling three to five-year business plan for the region in the context of the approved RICS corporate strategy and objectives.

As a Member of the Standards Setting Committee for the Egyptian Machinery and Equipment Valuation Standards at the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), I am instrumental in developing and revising standards that align with the International Valuation Standards (IVS). My responsibilities include analyzing current valuation practices, recommending improvements, and ensuring that our standards reflect global best practices while catering to local market needs. I collaborate closely with industry experts and other stakeholders to enhance the transparency, consistency, and credibility of machinery and equipment valuation across Egypt.

 Lead the product management efforts of several software products including the management of day-to-day process of translating product roadmaps into launched products - writing PRDs and user stories, prioritizing agile iterations, working hands-on with engineers and QA. Drove the Strategic Marketing Plan process which in Q4 creates a plan for the following four years for share gain and design-in targets, which continues to make Teradyne the leading semi-conductor test equipment manufacturer in the world. Owned and maintained the business update package for executive management, marketing and sales use. This package is updated once per quarter and includes market conditions, overall trends, financial and installed base exhibits, high level product positioning and roadmap.

 Design and develop a waveform graphical user tool with a budget of $2M which involves sizing and scheduling, designing of Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) and software architecture, and managing the development in scrum-cycles to delivery. Deliver five software projects from beginning to end with highest quality and customer satisfaction levels that continue to make Teradyne software a differentiating factor in the market. Improve operations as a result of developing internal processes and programs for test and development that met CMMI level three quality goals. Supervise and participate in the remodeling of the GUI automated test suite by migrating from a legacy system to a new technology which improves the quality and cost of testing by 40%, and redirects saved resources to add more value to customer products. Author several technical papers to advance research and development and presented them at the annual Teradyne technical conference.

 Launched the company and crafted a business plan that garnered $65K in seed capital.  Collaborated with a team of five developers and two testers to produce an online portal with over 300 new features for a client that significantly improved operations. Produced an online marketing campaign on $5k resulting in over 100,000 active users and over 80,000 registered customers.

 Designed, implemented, and tested features for the Oracle Time Management Suite that improved the functionality and usability of the products and contributed to the success in the market. Corrected defects, verified bug fixes, and conducted several code reviews to reduce the historical bug per LOC ratio. Engineered a complete automated test suite for online calendar client software that improved regression test operations.

 Programmed a lab-management software called "labman" that managed the status of computers, printers, and plotters to improve the technical support team's job in locating and servicing IT issues across the campus. Assisted students with IT issues and oversaw two computer labs.
