Applied Research Manager with experience in strategic public procurement. I have expertise in idea to implementation cycle of cutting-edge technologies in the large electrical systems. Later on, I could gain exposure in vendor management and public procurement processes in a large government-owned organization. I have been a part of many successful projects involving cross-departmental teams and external partners from research institutions.While working with NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance, I was involved with the management of NTPC's electrical assets distributed all over India. I have worked on a number of applied research projects. I gained expertise in advanced condition monitoring of Power Transformers, and Switchyards. Managed R&D projects and Technology Adoption projects from conceptualization to vendor development to execution. Many of these technologies were being introduced for ‘the first time in India or NTPC’. Developed extensive knowledge in advance testing and condition monitoring of transformer and switchyard including tests like Frequency Sweep Analysis and Moisture Analysis, Thermography, UV Inspection, and Partial Discharge Measurement. We worked in Close Coordination with top-tier academic institutes such as IITs, national/international research institutes, and key vendors for ongoing joint projects.In 2020, our team was given the responsibility of transforming the procurement function in NTPC through process simplification, automation, and effective resource utilization. Our team is working on finalizing long-term Rate Contracts with suppliers and also vendor selection for future requirements of NTPC majorly for Motors and Transformers in consultation with technical teams and the Quality Assurance department. Major day-to-day functions include Vendor capability assessment, document verification, tendering, SAP RFQ Preparation, Contract Document finalization, and negotiations following all norms and guidelines laid down by the Government of India.I have a B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from NIT, Jaipur which I think is a great place to learn electrical engineering!
