After a successful and mostly joyful 10-year career as a music educator, it was time for a shift to better serve my family & personal goals. Fortissimo Ad Strategy was born in 2020 out of an intense desire for a major shift, to become my own boss, and be fully in charge of my own destiny. This was most in order to best prioritize my family, while being able to serve my clients at a 1:1 level. * I specialize in serving local service-based businesses, who are looking for a steady and consistent stream of new leads, with systems that allow the business owner to nurture them right out of the gate with time-saving automations. * My shift from teaching middle school band to digital marketing may seem like a strange and non-logical one, but my ability to nurture & teach my clients, just as I did my students, is one of the things that sets me apart from others in my current field. * I am able to give personalized attention, and can provide as much or little detail to the business owner as desired, so it aligns with their desires of the level of engagement in my process. I was a proud team member & band director of the Goddard Scholars Academy (GSA) at Sullivan Middle School. Here I encouraged the musical growth and performance of young musicians at varied ability levels. Most students were beginners at the start of their time at GSA, and I taught them to effectively play their instruments with good technique and a characteristic tone, both independently and with an ensemble. I taught every student in the academy, as every student of GSA was enrolled in the band. I was proud to put on regular performances, both for the general community and school community. Students performed in adjudications if desired, where they competed against a rubric for placements in honors ensembles. I worked closely with my colleagues to support their classroom needs, and they did the same for me. It was the epitome of a team environment, and I look fondly on the time I spend there as a part of the team.

As a middle school band director, I was responsible for teaching novice musicians how to effectively & properly play their instruments both independently and with an ensemble. We held regular performances, a minimum of two large performances per school year, with additional varied ensembles that allowed unique student talents to shine, including chamber music ensembles. In this position, I was also able to be a founding school for the Harmony Bridge program, bringing music and joy into nursing homes, where young children learned to embrace their talents and learn empathy while performing and socializing with elderly residents.

As a first year teacher fresh out of college, I was tasked with reviving the once-thriving band curriculum, after it fell flat due to budget cuts for over 10 years. I was successful in bringing music back into the hallways of M Marcus Kiley Middle School. Enrollment was up over 100 after just a few semesters, with regular seasonal performances for the school community, families & out in the community. Several students were able to thrive in a competitive setting, also, competing against some of the top performers in Massachusetts, frequently earning credentials in those competitions.
