Head Of Marketing Communications
My role at Alberts has seen me start as the sole marketing and communications person where I have since grown the team to keep pace with Alberts and its parent company Auckland Real Estate and the inspirational businesses that they are. Having implemented successful brand campaigns, crafted journal and PR pieces and developed a brand for our bar offering Palmer, this role is both challenging and rewarding. With many further projects in the pipeline and as we continue to grow the business, I have also taken on some HR responsibilities where I use my knowledge of the business and relationship building skills to assist me in ensuring I can be effective in this area also.
Marketing And Communications Manager
With Alberts being a new player in the Auckland commercial property and hospitality space, my role requires me to think quickly on my feet and to be actively involved in ensuring the best outcomes are achieved. I have led the PR and marketing required to launch Auckland Real Estate onto the NZX and ASX, driven all marketing and communications for both Alberts and Lawn Café, both internally and externally. At Alberts, no two days are the same and with further growth underway keeping tenants, members and other stakeholders informed is essential. I am able to utilise my extensive communications and marketing skills to formulate the Alberts message and to secure the right people to assist our team on our journey.
Pr & Media Manager
My role at Tower Insurance allowed me to be involved in an exciting transformation phase of the business. Tower is a challenger brand and due to numerous business changes, appropriate communication of each was required. Due to this, I have been involved in content creation for various media, such as video, website and social media channels. Tower is also one of the biggest insurers in the Pacific, so preparing and helping the local teams with their press material gave insight into the various Pacific markets. My role has also seen me heavily involved in sponsorship and building on our partnership with Paralympics New Zealand. I was also fortunate to join the business at a time when NZ Junior Weightlifting Champion Kanah Andrews-Nahu was brought on board as Tower Community Brand Ambassador. My role was to get Kanah’s profile out in the marketplace and through communicating through the appropriate media channels, Kanah secured TV and radio interviews about her achievements. The material produced about Kanah included a video about Kanah and her journey into weightlifting and what motivates her every day to strive for success.I have utililsed my past experience to assist marketing with planning of Tower’s 150th birthday and activation plan and to drive the business towards acquiring the Rainbow Tick. The Tower team are motivated to help out in the community and about delivering Amazing Claims Experiences. I was a part of the Christmas special team who delivered the WOW to three lucky customers one Christmas. Taking part and creating the video script was very rewarding and well received by customers and on social channels. The Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) has more than 14,000 members. My role at REINZ involved creating press releases for media, responding to media query, writing internal reports and other communications to members. I also managed all digital channels such as social media, email marketing and website.Utilising my marketing skills and experience, I led the charge in updating the REINZ website and branding in 2015. Following this I worked on a product marketing piece for the business which involved analysis of existing product and a review of other opportunities that exist for the business.
Marketing & Communications Manager
I embraced this role by initially taking the old FPB/CMS branding and website and giving them a new look. Following this, I generated a marketing strategy to re-launch the brand into the market via TV, radio, print advertising and events.I worked closely with Marketing Managers from other leading businesses in the building industry. Facilitating marketing forums on a regular basis, I constantly met new people from within the industry. Using the connections of the FPB business I assisted in marketing partner services and products as well as the education service of the CMS business. Conducting market research, generating design material, public relations, social media, media liaison, client relationship management were all aspects of this role and no day was the same so multitasking went without saying.
Marketing Manager - Portfolios And Franchises
My role at Colliers International evolved to a national capacity when I was promoted to Marketing Manager - Portfolios and Franchises. I worked on the company's National Portfolio magazine where I was fully responsible for ensuring the publication came out on time, to budget and error free. I worked with ten offices from around New Zealand to ensure each were kept up to date with all marketing activity and were working within the brand guidelines. During my time in this role the company also conducted a brand refresh where I was responsible for ensuring this was followed through with all franchise offices. I implemented the digital platform Campaign Track into the business and was the super user of the system. This system enabled the company to streamline processes and required me to keep pace with any changes and update the system accordingly.I was involved with large property campaigns working with brokers I managed budgets and the marketing process from start to finish. I won the Directors Award while in this role which was a great achievement for me.
Marketing Projects Manager
My role as Marketing Projects Manager was to work with the brokers to conduct property marketing campaigns. These campaigns ranged from big budgets to small and always had to be run to tight deadlines. I was responsible for negotiating rates with newspapers and other suppliers along with booking and supplying advertisements which I made in Freehand and later Indesign. I organised photography and signage for each property and kept pace with a multitude of campaigns at any given time updating ads and resupplying when required. Direct Marketing pieces were sometimes required for campaigns which I sourced and branded for use. Some campaigns required individual websites to be created so I organised these to be made complete with individual URL addresses for each. I was responsible for managing the content on the Colliers International website and this eventually led to a new website being implemented for the business.During my time in this role the NZ Marketing Team (there were two of us at the time) won the Colliers International Global brand award for a series we created for the company to use in all offices around the world. These ads had to be able to be tailored to suit each market and we worked hard to deliver a campaign that fitted this brief.
