At the centre of my career purpose is ‘financial advice for ALL’. We all have superannuation and for most of us, it’s going to be our biggest asset – so we all deserve advice about how to make the most of this important asset.Super funds play a vital role in solving the advice gap – it may mostly be general advice, but it’s better than no advice at all. Throughout my many years in financial services, I’ve developed my niche to connect with those who think financial advice is not in their reach because they aren’t the high net worth type. I am RG146 compliant and working as an employer super relationship manager I have built my skills to effectively communicate and explain complex financial terms and concepts to all walks of life. And importantly to make people feel comfortable and confident when making decisions about their super. And if I see that someone needs advice beyond a general nature, it’s important to make sure I connect them with a qualified financial adviser that can provide personal recommendations.Whilst my experience as a relationship account manager entails multiple facets of responsibility including managing employer relationships and workplace education, what I enjoy most is the general advice consultations - talking with everyday people not just about their super but about their lives in general – it really is such a privilege to be able to listen to people’s stories. And the other part I really enjoy is the satisfaction of the creation and growth of the employer relationship strategy side of things. Building and strengthening relationships can be challenging, but when you do get those wins and successes it’s such an amazing feeling of personal and professional accomplishment.So that’s why I do what I do.
